Works for Model 3 and Model Y

This page has one job: give you an active Tesla referral code that works in August 2026 and a short, honest guide to applying it. The button above pre-applies the code at Tesla.com in one click. Everything below is context if you want it.

The current Tesla referral perk (Aug 2026)

As of August 2026, Tesla is offering 3 months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) — the paid Autopilot upgrade — free to new Model 3 and Model Y buyers who use a referral code before delivery. FSD normally costs about $99/month as a subscription, so the perk works out to roughly $300 of software Tesla otherwise charges for.

Tesla has changed this program multiple times in 2026. Early in the year it was a $500–$1,000 cash discount. In February it shifted to 3 months of FSD on Model 3 / Y. In March, Tesla removed the cash discounts for Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck. The perk banner at the top of this page reflects the current offer — I update it monthly and check my Tesla account before publishing changes.

Where to double-check. Tesla lists the current offer on tesla.com/support/refer-and-earn. Whatever it says there is the source of truth. If Tesla's page and this page ever disagree, Tesla wins — email me and I'll update.

How to apply a Tesla referral code — step-by-step

The whole flow takes about 30 seconds if you use the link. About two minutes if you'd rather type the code manually.

The fast way (recommended)

  1. Click the link — ts.la/whitney427015. Tesla's order page opens with the referral code already applied.
  2. Configure your Model 3 or Model Y: trim, exterior color, wheels, interior. Continue to checkout as normal.
  3. Complete the order. The Referral Code field will already be filled — no action needed on your part.

The manual way

  1. Go directly to tesla.com and configure your car as normal.
  2. At checkout, look for the Referral Code field (it's on the order review screen, right before you place the order).
  3. Paste or type the code from the box above. Confirm you see the referral discount reflected in your order summary before submitting.

After you take delivery, Tesla applies the FSD trial to your account automatically. There's no separate claim step and no window where you have to remember to redeem it.

Which Tesla models the code works on

Model 3 and Model Y: yes, straightforward. 3 months of FSD, applied after delivery.

Model S and Model X: as of the most recent Tesla program update, these vehicles were removed from the cash-discount side of the program. Whether they qualify for the FSD perk changes month-to-month. If you're ordering an S or X, check Tesla's referral page directly before you order.

Cybertruck: currently not on the referral program list. This has flipped on and off; verify before ordering.

Semi and Roadster: not covered.

Stacking with federal and state EV incentives

The referral perk is separate from the federal EV tax credit and any state rebates. You can (and should) claim all of them.

  • Federal: The Clean Vehicle Credit — up to $7,500 depending on income, MSRP cap, and battery-sourcing rules. Details at fueleconomy.gov.
  • State: highly variable. Illinois, Minnesota, and Colorado have current EV rebate programs. Iowa and Wisconsin do not (as of writing). Check your state's Department of Transportation or energy office.
  • Utility: Many Midwest utilities offer $500–$1,000 rebates for home Level-2 charger installation. Ask your electric co-op.
  • Military and first responder: Tesla offers separate discounts here — tesla.com/support/military-discount. These stack with the referral perk.

What to do if you already placed your order

Tesla only lets you apply a referral code before delivery. If you've placed your order but haven't taken delivery yet, you may still be able to add a code by editing the order:

  1. Log into your Tesla account.
  2. Open your existing order under "Manage."
  3. Look for an "Edit Order" or "Add Referral Code" option. This appears intermittently and depends on order status.
  4. If you don't see it, call your Tesla advisor (their number is in the "Contact" section of your account) and ask them to add the code manually. Most will do it if you're pre-delivery.

After delivery, the code can no longer be applied. Tesla does not backdate referrals.

FAQ

Is this Tesla referral code active right now?

Yes. The perk banner at the top of this page is updated monthly. As of August 2026, the code is active for Model 3 and Model Y orders.

What do I get for using the code?

3 months of Full Self-Driving (FSD) — Tesla's paid Autopilot upgrade, normally about $99/month — applied to your Tesla account after delivery.

Does the code work on Model S, Model X, or Cybertruck?

The program prioritizes Model 3 and Model Y right now. S, X, and Cybertruck have been added to and removed from the program multiple times in 2026. Check Tesla's official referral page for the current status.

Can I combine the referral code with the federal EV tax credit or state rebates?

Yes. The referral perk stacks with federal and state incentives. Also stacks with Tesla's military and first-responder discounts.

What if I already placed my order?

Tesla only allows a referral code to be applied before delivery. If you haven't taken delivery yet, edit your order or call your Tesla advisor. After delivery, it's too late.

Does using the code share my personal information with the referrer?

No. Using a Tesla referral code does not share any personal information with the referrer. Tesla only notifies the referrer that a credit has posted to their account.

How often does Tesla change the referral perk?

Historically every 3–6 months. In 2026 it's been quicker — Tesla changed the program in February and again in March. I re-check the perk each month and update the banner on this page accordingly.
